Verdicchio is a very, very fine restaurant hidden away in an industrial park in the mining city of Sudbury – well worth seeking it out. Highly imaginative modern Italian cuisine created by their award winning chef Alessandro, served impeccably in newly and tastefully renovated surroundings. We have eaten there many times, and I keep meaning to write a review — finally getting around to it! I travel widely, and have lots of restaurant dining experience, but Verdicchio stands out. I’m particularly fond of their four-course or six-course tasting menus, which change every week. These are always exciting, especially with the (optional) wine pairings that owner Mark suggests and provides from their superb cellar. For lovers of creative cuisine, this is a must. It is expensive, so be prepared, although in my opinion the quality of the food, the wines and the service justifies the cost.

This is an excellent restaurant. Service is polished and professional. The food is delectable. The wine list is extensive and well chosen.
Our group of five visited on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was full. We were surprised to find Verdicchio in an industrial strip mall. Our cab driver told us that they could move it to the moon and people would still find it; he was right. We started with an excellent charcuterie and a selection of fine cheeses all well chosen and delicious. The ossobuco di vitello was among the best I have ever had and was accompanied by a tasty well seasoned risotto. The risottos are varied and delicious. The local Nipissing farm quail was delicious and meaty. The grilled salmon with bacco sauce was exceptional. Desserts are varies and surprising; some old favorites but great departures on some common themes.
The room is subdued and although all tables were occupied it is a quiet experience. Uncommonly well trained wait staff.
The wine list is the obvious work of a sommelier and has wine at price points for every taste. There is great value at this restaurant.IntSommelier, Ottawa

Dining at Verdicchio was a delight. I started with the insalada primivara. Beautifully displayed with a variety of flavours and colours making it as much about eating with my eyes as with my mouth. Four my main course I had the gnocchi and lamb. The gnocchi was light and soft without a lot of sauce. Actually, the lamb shredded makes up the sauce and served with a whole lamb chop cooked and seasoned just right. Service was impeccable and I would return if ever in Sudbury again.
