Verdicchio’s Menus are Food for the Soul…
The chefs of Verdicchio Ristorante | Enoteca take pride in offering the best quality ingredients available for our guests. Though we do import products from other countries, we believe it is important to get connected to food sources and understand how it makes it to your plate. We try to utilize our surroundings as much as possible. Our herbs are grown on premises – chives, rosemary, parsley, sage, mint and basil. In the spring, our gardens are planted with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and many other summer vegetables. Seasonal produce is brought in from local farms to ensure the freshest of ingredients on your plates. Take a moment to explore our amazing menus.
As northern Ontarians, we tend to forget that the freshest product is right in our backyard – Manitoulin rainbow trout, perch, farm raised pork and chicken, alberta beef, ‘dalew farms’ butternut squash – to name a few. These are all found locally, and used in our menus.
For those of you who are interested in trying something unique, we also offer a daily tasting menu along with our regular menu. The ‘menu di degustazione’ showcases locally grown seasonal products in a six course format. Here, we use classic Italian regional cuisine and add a youthful play to create dishes exclusive to Verdicchio’s. A selection of wines from our 8000 bottle wine list is also available to compliment each dish.
Our cured meats are made on site in old world fashion – ’green zone farms’ red deer prosciutto, lardo, lonza and salsiccia (using the finest local pork), wine washed and seasoned to age. Pasta selections, if not using premium Italian labels, are homemade here, right in our kitchen. Gnocchi, ravioli, strangozzi, passatelli, sauces and soups are made every day to ensure the ‘vera cucina’ or ‘true flavours’ of Italian cuisine are kept in our culture. This is how we were meant to enjoy food – just like in the old world!
Our dishes are prepared fresh in order to give you the best possible quality. Should you have any dietary concerns, please feel free to let us know and we will gladly accommodate!
Buon appetito! We hope you enjoy your dining experience with us!
